We’re excited to announce a major milestone for clean energy and commercial property investment in New Jersey: The Garden State C-PACE Program is officially open for applications. Project developers and property owners can now submit initial applications through the NJEDA’s new online portal: https://programs.njeda.com/en-US/cpace.
This long-awaited launch makes it possible at last to finance energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate resilience improvements using Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE)—a powerful tool for transforming New Jersey’s built environment.
According to the NJEDA:
“The Garden State C-PACE program provides a new form of financing to help New Jersey property owners make their buildings more resilient, energy efficient, and sustainable. With this program, New Jersey joins more than 30 other states and Washington, D.C. in providing access to this innovative form of financing that helps property owners invest in their buildings while creating jobs, lowering operating costs, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
Under this program, eligible commercial, industrial, agricultural, and multi-family buildings (5+ units) can secure long-term, low-cost financing for a wide range of qualifying improvements. These include solar and other renewable energy systems, HVAC upgrades, floodproofing, energy-efficient lighting, water conservation, and more.
The application portal is now live, and the process begins with an Initial Application submitted through the NJEDA’s site. From there, applicants will proceed through a streamlined process to secure project approval and financing.
As one of the state’s original advocates for C-PACE, NJPACE is here to help project developers and property owners navigate the process. We can assist you in understanding the program requirements, preparing your documentation, and structuring your project to ensure it qualifies under the NJEDA’s guidelines.
If you’re planning a capital improvement project and want to explore using C-PACE financing, now is the time to act.
